Government Contracts

F&E LLP is aware that the corporate legal needs of government contractors are unique and attorneys focusing on this area require specific experience and specialized knowledge to service this group of companies. The attorneys at F&E LLP can provide the requisite experience and knowledge to advise on corporate legal matters in the complex and highly regulated environment in which these organizations operate.

Our team consists of former large law firm attorneys previously based in Washington, D.C. and now located in the government contracting rich environment of San Diego, California.  They have significant experience, knowledge, and contacts that are highly valuable in dealing with the complexities of doing business with the federal government and its multiple agencies.  Our clients span various industries and are located in various states across the country.

We help clients with contract interpretation, questions regarding the proposal and evaluation process, change orders, protecting intellectual property, subcontracting and many other issues unique to government contracting. Further, our team is experienced in GSA Federal Supply Schedule matters, particularly in advising clients on how to structure proposals to avoid price reduction clause issues and other compliance matters post-award.  We are extremely experienced in negotiating and drafting subcontract agreements tailored for the government contracting space.  Additionally, our attorneys deal with issues pertaining to intellectual property issues that come up in government contracts law. We assist clients in identifying and avoiding inadvertent reduction of intellectual property rights as a result of contracting with the federal government, which can often result in the government acquiring rights in inventions, software, and technical data of the company.

In addition, our team represents a number of small, disadvantaged, woman, minority and veteran-owned, and Historically Under-utilized Business Zone (HUBZone) companies. We assist them in qualifying for official preference status and ensuring that government agencies provide them with the contracting opportunities mandated by statute or executive order. We are also knowledgeable and counsel our disadvantaged business clients with respect to all aspects of the 8(a) program.
