Mariel Estigarribia is a seasoned corporate, transactional and securities attorney, whose experience of representing both publicly-traded and privately-held companies of all sizes in mergers and acquisitions, reorganizations, and restructurings, has earned her various distinctions and accolades in the legal community. In addition to her in depth M&A experience, Mariel routinely represents clients in negotiating, reviewing and drafting commercial agreements and leases; represents issuers and investors in transactions involving capital raises (debt and equity); assists clients with securities filings; drafts and negotiates executive compensation agreements, assists clients with Securities Exchange Act compliance and public company reporting; advises clients with respect to corporate governance matters and acts in the capacity of general counsel to many small to mid-size businesses in the region.
In addition, Mariel has developed a niche in representing corporate clients who engage in government contracts and often assists them in the procurement process, obtaining special certifications, the establishment of incentive compensation plans, and negotiating subcontracts.
Prior to founding F&E LLP, Mariel developed her business skills as an analyst at a boutique investment banking firm in New York City, where she mainly focused on mergers and acquisitions, restructuring and bankruptcy matters. Mariel then practiced corporate, transactional and securities law at a prominent national law firm in its Detroit, Washington, D.C., and San Diego offices, handling a vast array of complex transactions, including mergers & acquisitions, equity and debt financings and securities compliance matters. Mariel then went on to co-chair the Corporate, Transactional and Securities department of a well-known regional law firm in San Diego. Mariel’s practical approach, her thorough understanding of financial data and her comprehensive legal experience allow her to service her client's efficiently and effectively.
Mariel earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business (2001). She received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Michigan Law School (2005).
