John Bennett is a corporate and transactional attorney with a background in corporate law and intellectual property. Prior to joining F&E LLP as an associate attorney, John represented startup companies operating in an array of industries, ranging from biopharmaceutical development to vintage apparel merchandising; throughout these engagements, John provided counsel on corporate governance and formation, brand protection, intellectual property licensing, and financing. This experience has become the foundation for his current practice. John now helps clients with contractual matters, debt and equity capital raises, merger and acquisition transactions, corporate governance, and compliance with state and federal securities filings.

While attending law school, John served as an executive editor of the Science and Technology Law Journal, was a judicial extern to the Honorable Justice Lidia S. Stiglich at the Supreme Court of Nevada, and participated in a clinical, corporate program supervised by one of the leading national law firms in venture capital work. John received CALI Excellence for the Future Awards for best student performance in Intellectual Property Licensing; Trademarks and Unfair Competition; and was the recipient of Moot Court’s Best Oral Advocate in Spring 2018.

John is of indigenous descent and is familiar with Federal Indian Law and experienced working with tribal members. John utilizes this multicultural background while assisting his clients, domestic and international.

John earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from the University of Nevada, Reno College of Business (2016). He received his Juris Doctorate from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law (2020).
